看啊,我一直与你同在-“Behold, I am with you always”

As a freshman, this was my first FES Chinese Work Big Family Gathering. Held on 19 October 2018, it was a really eye-opening experience, seeing the wider community of fellow brothers- and sisters-in-Christ beyond NUS. This included the students, graduates, mentors, and our mentors’ mentors!

This year’s gathering was a dedication ceremony for the book Present to the Moment(那时刻,我在) which details the history of the Mandarin-speaking Christian student ministry in Singapore. My mentor later told me that the idea for this book was first mooted during his days as a student. It is a testament to the amount of time and effort that were put writing this book. At the gathering, the author shared that the manuscript of the book was lost once. However, after rewriting it and asking someone else to edit the text, it was found that one of the Mandarin words was typed wrongly throughout the book. This reminds me God can indeed use a setback to move us forward in His plan.
