4D Youth Leadership Camp

The 4D Youth Leadership Camp (YLC), co-organised by FES Chinese Work (CW) and the Chinese Work Committee of the National Council of Churches Singapore for Christians aged 17 years and above, was held from 26 to 28 December 2024 at the Girls’ Brigade Headquarters. About 50 participants from 22 Chinese churches across Singapore attended the camp.

Life game simulating the experiences and struggles families face in Singapore

This year’s camp focused on teaching youths about marriage and having children from a Christian perspective. Through different simulated life scenarios, the participants experienced the various roles and backgrounds that play a part in how decisions are made concerning marriage and family life. Each participant was encouraged to reflect on the decision-making process and analyse how their character’s background influences their decision-making.

Interacting with fellow campers

I found this camp unique as it allowed me to meet people from different churches of varied denominations. This reminded me that we are still one in Christ though we may have different church practices. Through the talks, I was able to understand better how to view marriage and what the Bible says about having children. The interaction with people from different age groups and life stages also helped me to understand different perspectives and how they live out the Word.
