Not Readiness but Faithfulness

The 2025 Joint Polytechnic Bible Camp, themed “乱世之光,” (Light of the Broken World), ran from 13 to 16 October at Changi Bethany Church. We focused on studying the Old Testament by exploring the prophetic books from the divided kingdom to Malachi, anchored by the life of the prophet Jeremiah. Our aim was to turn biblical knowledge into practical actions as we dove deeper into the Bible using Inductive Bible Study methods.

Growing is done together!

My main learning point came from the personal struggle of serving as a camp leader for such a large project. This struggle was immediately resolved during one of our devotion sessions, which focused on Jeremiah 1:6. Like the prophet who protested, “I am too young,” I realised that true leadership isn’t about feeling ready; it’s about faithfully responding to the mandate God gives. This conviction fundamentally shifted my approach from self-reliance to reliance on God. Furthermore, the opportunity to lead devotionals and worship sessions taught me the vital difference between managing a process and facilitating a spiritual atmosphere.

Moving forward, this experience compels me to dive deeper into learning more about the prophetic books, in hopes of shifting the knowledge gained from the camp into day-to-day wisdom. This means ensuring my future decisions and leadership are firmly anchored in the Scripture.
