Called and Chosen
From 26 to 31 December, students and recent graduates from NUS, NTU, SIM, SUSS, JCUS, SIT, and SMU gathered at Majodi Centre in Johor Bahru for SWAT (Studying the Bible All Together) Camp, themed “Called and Chosen”. With around 99 attendees, we spent six days immersed in God’s Word, engaging in thought-provoking workshops, and listening to powerful theme talks by Dr Justin Joon Lee from Singapore Bible College. The camp provided a space to step away from daily distractions and dive deeper into Scripture, challenging us to study the Bible with greater depth and seriousness.

What stood out most was the vibrant and welcoming community. Despite coming from different universities, we bonded quickly, sharing stories of how God has been working in our lives. The friendships formed at camp were built on a shared desire to grow in our faith, and it was encouraging to see how each person’s journey reflected God’s grace in unique ways.

A particularly moving part of the programme was hearing about the joys and struggles of campus ministries across Singapore. We spent time in prayer for these ministries, recognising the challenges they face but also celebrating the ways God has been moving. It was a reminder that campus ministries are not just social groups – they are spaces where students are discipled, encouraged, and equipped to be salt and light for Christ. Seeing the collective passion of students stirred in me a greater love for campus ministry and a renewed conviction to invest in it.
SWAT Camp was an intense yet deeply rewarding experience. Though the days were long, every moment was worth it. If you’re considering joining for the next one, don’t hesitate. You’ll leave with a strengthened faith, lasting friendships, and a heart ignited for God’s work on campus!
