GS Desk in FES Annual Review 2019
前人栽树, 后人乘凉. Early last year in my GS Letter, I shared the above Chinese proverb, which may literally mean “one generation plants a tree, the next generation rests in the shade.”
2019 has been another year when new staff joined the Chinese Work ministry and the grace of God continues to abound as we serve the Chinese CFs on the campuses. We are thankful for God’s provision of two new staff workers to support and guide the students after one staff returned to Macau and another staff went to seminary.
To mark the 20th anniversary of Indonesian Students Christian Fellowship (ISCF) ministry a family day was held in January. It was a celebration of what God has done thus far, while also pausing to ponder on the current challenges on the different campuses and the vision we strive to see.
Our graduates work focuses on building a network of graduates by providing support especially for the younger graduates. The Graduate Resource Integration Team (GRIT) of the English section, cohort groups in the Indonesian Ministry, and core groups from different Chinese CF alumni, help to facilitate network building among the fresh graduates even before graduation.
